Every parent loves a set of stacking cups: They’re inexpensive, compact and they’ll entertain your baby from her half birthday through preschool in a million different ways. But this set of eight cups from Danish designer Mushie has practically earned a cult following.

You might be able to tell why just by looking at them. Unlike the bold, sometimes straight-up garish rainbow or neon colors that feature on most kids’ toys, Mushie cups come in calming, Pinterest-approved earth tones that are more likely to mesh with the rest of your home’s décor.

We’re not saying seeing a set strewn across the floor won’t still be annoying. But the mess won’t make you *quite* as upset. And you actually might like looking at the soothing ombre stack when it’s tidied up.

“If I’m being honest, I ordered these stacking cups because I found the colors aesthetic[ally pleasing] and wanted to display them on a shelf in my twin girls' nursery,” wrote one Amazon reviewer.

“I don’t mind keeping them out on my coffee table because they are so pleasing to the eye,” another gushed.

Perhaps this reviewer summed it up best of all: “These lovely colored cups don’t hurt my eyes and coordinate with the Instagram-fueled vision of my little guy playing with muted and wooden toys only (dream on mom!).”

But Mushie’s stacking set hasn’t racked up nearly 6,000 five-star Amazon reviews and gone viral on TikTok just because they’re pretty. Parents also love them because they’re great at keeping little ones occupied, are seriously multipurpose and work for a range of ages.

Starting as early as 7 to 8 months, babies will delight in experimenting with placing one cup inside another or building a small tower and knocking it over. And by toddlerhood, the possibilities only expand.

“Watching my toddler incorporate these cups in her small-world play makes this purchase all the more worthwhile," one reviewer said. "She uses them as bowls for her dolls’ meals, as doll hats, as a place to collect treasures scavenged from the outdoors, etc. Overall, a great open-ended play purchase."

What’s more, Mushie cups can venture far beyond the playroom or living room. Parent after parent mentioned how their kids love using the cups in the bath or for playing with sand. And since each cup has a different-shaped cutout on the bottom, you can even shine flashlights through them to make different pictures on the wall. Hello, rainy day fun!

That kind of versatility makes the stacking set an open-ended toy that your child will keep coming back to year after year. “My kids are a bit older so for anyone wondering if it is worth buying for a 2- and 3-year-old, it is! I have a 9-year-old as well and whenever she uses the tub, she finds ways to play with these,” one reviewer said. Nearly a decade of play for less than $15? We’ll take it.

There’s one other feature that makes Mushie cups truly special. While most stacking cup sets are made from chemical-laden plastic, these are 100 percent free of BPA, PV and phthalates. So there’s no need to worry if your little explorer decides to put one in her mouth.

That, and the fact that they could buy you enough time to make dinner, fold a load of laundry or heck, just put your feet up on the couch for a few. “My 20-month-old was entertained with the cups alone for a solid 30 minutes,” wrote one lucky reviewer. Yup, this toy is totally worth it.
